SHRM Portage County is offering a new service to advance the profession and HR professionals by teaching systems thinking for HR startegy, communications, openness and safety.

"Applying Systems Thinking: Engaging Unhappy Employees"

ABOUT THE EVENT: Over the past 8 months, we introduced a new service called “Advancing the Profession and Serving the HR Professional Learning Series”, a bi-monthly online event raising awareness of systems thinking.

Thje first 4 sessions explored the systems thinking theory and methodology of DSRP, which stands for Distinctions, Systems, Relationships, and Perspectives. It is a process of “thinking about thinking” and helps users develop empathy and active listening skills in addition to thinking skills.  Our final session will demonstrate how we can apply systems thinking in the workplace.

For this event, participants can learn and earn 1 SHRM PDC.

ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: Workplace satisfaction rates are stagnant with recent data indicating a downward trend, and unfortunately this could be related to the rise in younger workers entering the market. That trend could mean this could get worse before it gets better, since younger people tend to have less coping skills. The scope  of frustration and unhappiness at work can be broadly encountered, and can be from work or home life. So what can we do to help employees gain an elevated perspective?

In this session, learn a different perspective of reality and feedback that will help you be more in tune with job satisfaction and the people around you. From there we will quickly cover some key effective relationship management approaches to enhance culture for engaging employees and decreasing the potential impact of some triggers. Then, we will wrap up with a holistic and empathetic approach to help people through their troubles. This method works no matter the origin of the unhappiness & dissatisfaction! We hope you join us!

Questions and dialogue are welcome and encouraged!
