ABOUT THE EVENT: About the Event: This is part of our bi-monthly Member Meeting Networking and Learning Series. The purpose of the meeting is to welcome new and returning members, provide updates on SHRM Portage County activities, and listen to a speaker presentation on an HR topic of interest to our membership.

ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: In today’s evolving insurance market, understanding your options is more important than ever. During this presentation, we’ll walk through the key differences between fully insured, level-funded an self-insured, and programs. You’ll learn how each option works, the pros and cons of each approach, and what factors to consider when choosing the right fit for your organization. Whether you’re new to these concepts or looking for a refresher, you’ll leave with practical knowledge to help you navigate your insurance decisions with confidence.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER: During her 10 years working in the employee benefits arena, Melanie has provided high-level consultative services to hundreds of employer groups, working in tandem with HR managers, CEOs and CFOs to develop cost-effective benefit programs that are mutually attractive to employers and employees. Melanie aims to understand each client’s goals and understands that this is a key to developing tailored solutions that create successful and sustainable employee benefits offerings.
Melanie is a member of the following organizations and serves in various capacities: Greater Akron Chamber (GAC) – Women’s Network’s Leadership Institute (WNLI), Advisory Council, Akron Area SHRM – Hospitality Committee, Cleveland SHRM - Programming Committee, SHRM Portage County - Membership Committee, Athena Akron Fierce Advocate, Manufacturing Works – Member, National Association of Health Underwriters member and Leadership Medina County, 2020 Alumni.
