In partnership with the ConxusNEO, SHRM Portage County invites you to join the ConsuxNEO November Meeting titled:
"Manfacturing Symposium: The Ripple Effect of the Polymer Industry on the Future of Manuracturing, Talent, and WOrkforce in Northeast Ohio"
ABOUT THE EVENT: This is part of our SHRM Portage County 2024 Workforce Development Learning Series. We are partnering with the ConxusNEO to provide business owners and HR professionals information and support on programs and funding opportunities available in the manufacturing, healthcare and technology sectors.
ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: Greater Akron has a rich history in polymers dating back more than 100 years. The region’s recent designation as the Sustainable Polymers Tech Hub of the United States by the EDA and the Greater Akron Innovation Hub by the State of Ohio has solidified our position to become a global leader in polymer innovation and manufacturing.
Join us for this year’s Manufacturing Symposium, a virtual event, held in partnership with MAGNET, as we celebrate Manufacturing Month and Northeast Ohio’s robust manufacturing community. Our panel of presenters will dive into the history of polymers and the creation of the Polymer Industry Cluster, the ripple effect the region’s recent designations in polymers have on the future of the manufacturing industry, talent and workforce in manufacturing, and the series of resources available to employers. Attendees will hear from Ethan Karp, MAGNET CEO, the ConxusNEO workforce team and Summit County manufacturers, to learn how these resources can help your company reach its goals.
This event is geared towards small and mid-market manufacturers and educators at all levels
ABOUT THE ConxusNEO: Our role is to convene employers, educators, workforce programs, economic development, and community-based organizations to make that vision a sustainable reality. Our work is based on the supply chain management model where workforce system strategies are innovated among partners to deliver the in-demand skills local companies need as the ultimate end-users in the supply chain. As collaboration evolves, partners across the talent supply chain experience shared value. Educators and workforce training programs are better able to align curriculum with in-demand skills, economic development efforts can benefit from more strategic workforce assets, and community-based organizations can leverage relationships and a variety of program partners to recruit and support residents in their job preparation efforts.
