ABOUT THE EVENT: This is part of our SHRM Portage County 2024 Diversity and Inclusion Learning Series. We are partnering with the Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities to provide business owners and HR professionals an understanding of the ways we can make our businesses more inclusive.
ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: This webinar provides an overview of how employers can effectively use job coaching services to support employees with disabilities in the workplace.
Best practices for collaborating with job coaches to enhance workplace learning, establishing natural supports, and implementing teaching strategies that match the learning styles and needs of the employee with a disability will also be shared.
ABOUT THE SPEAKERS: Panel Discussion
Alanna Smith
Alanna Smith is the Business Relations Specialist for Northwest Ohio with the Division of Employer and Innovation Services at OOD. In this role, Alanna supports Ohio’s businesses in hiring and retaining individuals with disabilities. Alanna joined OOD in September 2019 and holds a bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy.
Megan Naves
Megan Naves, CRC, is a Career and Credential Consultant with the Division of Employer and Innovation Services at OOD. In this role, Megan supports improved outcomes for individuals with disabilities by facilitating connections with training programs that lead to credentials needed for in-demand jobs. Megan joined OOD in March 2019 and earned a master’s degree in recreational therapy and a bachelor’s degree in speech language pathology.
