"Child Labor"
ABOUT THE EVENT: This is part of our PCHRA 2024 Wage and Hour Learning Series. We are partnering with the The Department of Labor Division of Wage and Hour to provide business owners and HR professionals an understanding of the 2024 changes in wage and hour laws impacting business.
About the Presentation: PCHRA Wage and Hour Learning Series will host Danielle Calderon from the Division of Wage and Hour to discuss changes in federal child labor law provisions.
This presentation will include:
- An overview of federal child labor laws
- Hours 14- and 15-year-olds can work
- Dangerous jobs prohibited for 14- and 15-year-olds
- Dangerous jobs prohibited for all young workers including 16- and 17-year-olds
- Most Common violations
This event is part of a nationwide effort by the Division of Wage and Hour to help keep young workers’ safe and healthy on the job.
About the Speaker: Danielle Calderon is the Community Outreach and Resource Planning Specialist (CORPS) for the Wage & Hour Division’s Ohio District Office. Danielle began her career in 2011 as a Wage Hour Investigator. Over the last decade she has acted as a subject matter expert on the laws enforced by the Wage & Hour Division, including: the Fair Labor Standards Act, Family Medical Leave Act, and the Davis Bacon and Related Acts. Danielle began working as the CORPS for the Ohio in 2022 and works to provide outreach and education to stakeholders throughout the state.
