    "Strategies for a Recovery Friendly Workplace"


    ABOUT THE EVENT:  This is part of our PCHRA 2024 Diversity and Inclusion Learning Series. We are partnering with the Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities to provide business owners and HR professionals an understanding of the ways we can make our businesses more inclusive.  

    For this event, participants can learn and earn 1 SHRM PDC and/or 1 HRCI  Credit.

    ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: This webinar shares best practices for hiring and retaining individuals who are recovering from substance use disorder and creating a recovery-friendly work environment.  You will also learn strategies to support retention and advancement for employees in recovery.

     ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:  Panel Discussion

    Mallory Pitts is a Program Administrator at OOD. She oversees the Individual Placement Support (IPS) Collaboration with the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) and the Jobs for Recovery (JFR) Initiative in partnership with the Ohio Supreme Court statewide. Mallory holds undergraduate and master's degrees from Bowling Green State University in sociology and rehabilitation counseling, respectively, and an additional master's degree in public administration from Kent State University. She joined OOD in May 2015.

    Samantha Gray is a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for OOD in Southwest Ohio. Samantha has a wide range of experience in rehabilitation and the Jobs for Recovery field, including serving as a Job Developer with OOD in the Southwest area for two years. Samantha earned her master’s degree in social work from Wright State University and a bachelor’s degree in psychological science from Miami University. She joined OOD in November 2019.

    Amanda Hall is the Talent Acquisition & Training Specialist at JBM Packaging – a prominent Fair Chance employer in the greater Cincinnati area. JBM recruited Amanda directly from prison back in 2019. In less than two years, Amanda went from an entry-level machine operator to a Lead Trainer in her current role in Human Resources. She continues to share her story as a Peer Mentor Facilitator and Recruiter, giving hope to incarcerated people with felony backgrounds. Her outreach to regional prisons and halfway houses is opening doors to employment for people in our community from a variety of backgrounds.
