    In partnership with the Portage County Safety Council, PCHRA invites you to join PCSC's January Meeting titled:

    "Utility Safety: Call Before You Dig"

    ABOUT THE EVENT:  This is part of our PCHRA 2024 Health and Safety Learning Series. We are partnering with the Portage County Safety Council to provide business owners, HR and Health & Safety professionals an understanding various safety procedures and regulations. 

    This month's training focuses on utility safety and will cover:

    • The One Call Process (Ohio 811)
    • Excavator vs. utility owner responsibilities
    • Ohio’s Universal Marking Standards
    For this event, participants can learn and earn 1 SHRM PDC.

    ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Matt Hennis, Public Awareness & Services Coordinator at Ohio Utility Protection Service (OUPS ), has worked in the utility industry for 23 years. The experience he has gained through various positions in the industry has allowed Matt to broaden his knowledge in the damaged prevention field. In 2013 Matt took a position with the Ohio Utility Protection Service dba OHIO811 as one of their Public Awareness & Services Coordinators. Primarily servicing the northeast Ohio region, Matt works with contractors, excavators, contract locators to spread the message of damage prevention.

    He provides safety talks to industry groups, participates in several Damage Prevention Councils and Utility Coordinating Councils and promotes cooperation amongst all stakeholders.Primarily servicing the southeastern Ohio region, Matt works with contractors, excavators, contract locators to spread the message of damage prevention. He provides safety talks to industry groups, participates in several Damage Prevention Councils and Utility Coordinating Councils and promotes cooperation amongst all stakeholders.
