    SHRM Portage County is proud to serve as a mentoring organization for the Kent State University Student HR Association.  Some of the programs and services provided to our student members include:

      SHRM Portage County Academic Scholarship Program

      The Portage County Human Resources Association chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (PCHRA) is accepting applications for PCHRA Scholarship Award.

      SHRM Portage County Professional Support Program

      SHRM Portage County's goal for our College Relations committee is to build a collaborative relationship with the students, advisors and officials from our partnering Colleges and Universities. In addition, we will provide educational resources geared towards the professional development students.

      Students who need support and resources to aid them in their professional careers, or advisors and officials interested in the development of students please feel free to contact the College Relations Chair by email at danielle.hunter@hattielarlham.org

      • Resume building workshops
      • Interviewing preparation
      • Professional speakers for your student chapter meetings or classes
      • Networking guidance

      SHRM Foundation Scholarship and Grant Programs

      SHRM Foundation and SHRM work hard to support and celebrate everyone who makes up the HR profession from students to emerging professionals to seasoned leaders. To do that, each year, SHRM Foundation: 

      • Provides over $400,000 in scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students studying the field of HR. 
      • Provides over $200,000 in grants for emerging and established HR professionals seeking to advance their existing career in HR through conference attendance, credentialing, or certification.
